Wall Mounted Air Conditioning Split Systems are the most popular types of air conditioning systems. These systems can be installed in commercial and residential premises. They usually consist of one outdoor unit to one indoor unit which is referred to as a single split system. Types of wall mounted systems
There are different types of wall mounted systems such as a multi split system. This can consist of one outdoor unit and up to 4 indoor units. These systems are installed in such locations where there in not adequate space to accommodate multiple outdoor units.

The cons of a multi split system are the all indoor units have to be operating in the same mode (Cooling or heating) at one time.
Single split system
A single split system consists of one indoor unit and one outdoor unit as shown in the picture. These are relatively cheaper than their multi split counter parts. They require a power supply to the outdoor condenser unit. Single split systems are commonly used in homes where only 1 or 2 rooms require air conditioning.
Multi split system
A multi split system can have multiple indoor units on one outdoor condenser unit. These are ideal when installing air conditioning in a complete house as there will only be one outdoor condenser unit connected to 4-6 indoor units. In circumstances where there is not enough outdoor space to install multiple outdoor condenser units this is the ideal solution along with being aesthetically pleasing.
In a multi split system if Indoor unit 1 is set to the cooling function all indoor units on the same system also have to be in the cooling function. One cannot be cooling and the other heating.
